Is Another War Just Across  The Horizon ?

More writings are appearing on the wall that Israel and US may just go attack Iran. The following news comes after months of US,  and Germany warships have been sailing around the Persian Gulf; And the Israelis submarines were joining them under the consent of the Egyptians and Saudis' 'consent'. This massive fuel news may just the final piece to the whole jigsaw. This is especially the relative short 'shelf ' life span of the fuel.

There have also been news that the "evil twins) - Iran and Syria and their foot soldiers, Hamas and Hasbollah have been raving up their RPGs and whatever over the past week.

So pay attention to crude oil and equities futures.

US to sell Israel massive military fuel stocks worth $2 bn

On Aug. 6, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, DSCA, informed Congress of the sale to Israel of 60 million gallons of unleaded gasoline, 284 million gallons of JP-8 aviation jet fuel and 100 million gallons of diesel fuel at an estimated cost of two billion dollars. The date is significant, our intelligence sources find.  Ten days earlier, the Japanese tanker M.Star was attacked in Omani waters of the Strait of Hormuz with 200,000 tons of oil.
Although American experts who examined the vessel, they never attributed the damage to sabotage by Iran or al Qaeda, despite the latter's claim of responsibility on Aug. 4 While Washington did its best to sweep the incident under the rug, Saudi intelligence were worried enough about the threat inching dangerously close to the Gulf's oil exporting lifeline to launch an independent investigation of the incident.

Their investigators discovered it was staged by a Saudi terrorist who operates out of Iran under the orders of the Revolutionary Guards. To Riyadh, the episode looked like a blunt warning from Tehran to Washington and its allies about the consequences - not just of a direct strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, but the possibility of sanctions upsetting the equilibrium of the Islamic regime.
Blockage of the Strait of Hormuz would cut off Israel's primary source of fuel. Therefore, our sources report, a series of accords, some of them secret, have been transacted to back up America's standing commitment to keep Israel supplied with its energy needs in the event of armed conflict or crisis on world fuel markets.
In its request to Congress to approve the sale, the DSCA noted:
"The proposed sale of the JP-B aviation fuel will enable Israel to maintain the operational capability of its aircraft inventory. The unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel will be used for ground forces' vehicles and other equipment used in keeping peace and security in the region. Israel will have no difficulty absorbing this additional fuel into its armed forces." Israel is therefore ready and able to absorb this huge injection of military-purpose fuels.

Tehran published its response through an item on the Tabanak Website on Saturday, Aug. 28. It was headlined in large capitals:

ISRAEL ORDERS MASSIVE MILITARY FUEL STOCKS FAR IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED FOR NORMAL OPERATIONS.

Our Iranian sources report that this site belongs to Mohsen Rezaei, ex-commander of the Revolutionary Guards and much respected in the highest Iranian military and intelligence circles.

The Iranian site goes on to cite bloggers' comments, the most quoted of which comes from an anonymous ex-US Air Force officer, who wrote on Aug. 27:

"I explained, as I have in the past, how it would be necessary for the US to supply the massive amounts of fuel need for such a [-n Israeli] strike. If Israel were to strike Iran, Israel would only require the massive amounts of jet fuel and over a billion litres of jet fuel would be more that enough to do the job in practical terms."

According to our military experts, the shelf life of JP-8 jet fuel is not long - no more than six to eight months.

Also Saturday, the Kuwait Al-Rai claimed that Israel is making its last preparations for an attack on the Hizballah missile stores located in Syria close to the Lebanese border, for which an IDF armored division has been called up.

FCPO:- Are We Looking For A Major Collapse Soon ? -8/30/2010

The market reversed on the last 2 trading days and took out my stop. Though price has closed above the lower Bollinger Band, the Stochastic still has not compliment it. So I would not buy again now. The MACD remains negative. The falling ADX, if continue toward below the 20's  may be hinting for a sideway market ahead. But prices continue to improve and trigger a new buy, place stop at 2538.

The weekly chart Stochastic has turned down while the MACD remains positive. The ADX has begun to turn downward to 15's again. Both confirming another range bound situation. Unless this market manage to break above its recent high of 2737 soon, we may be looking at a triple tops formation which , needless to say, is potentially extremely bearish. And you would notice this formation is accompanied with a bearish divergence at the MACD.

Remember some weeks back when Russia banned export of wheat and the market was burning with stories that food prices will explode. Instead, wheat prices started to fall and as far as CPO is concerned, it certainly does not look that way too. Though we do not have a confirmation yet, but it looks more like a mighty downside is more promising.

FKLI:- It Just Get Hotter - 8/30/2010

The daily chart ADX continues to rise which is confirming the current trend in the market. Since it has reached a30's, the "overbought " Stochastic would have little meaning, but instead I would keep an eye on the MACD as the next quit signal. Place stop at 1395.

As mentioned last week, the previous bearish divergence has already been erased, so we may have more top side to go. I would start worrying again until I next see a new divergence formed.

The weekly chart's MACD continues to rise while the Stochastic stays over bought. Unlike the daily chart where the ADX is high, the weekly ADX remains flat and it is below 20's.So I would keep an eye on the Stochastic . And the bearish divergence remains which warrant us as NOT to get overly bullish.

FKLI has now gone into the area where are little resistance, the next level to watch would be at 1458 or its historical high of 1536.

Hugh Hendry: World Food Crisis Coming If Asia Doesn't Slow Down

Heads up all you Hugh Hendry fans!
The gold-tongued hedge fund managers was on TV in the UK last night, and apparently sounded the alarm about a coming food crisis.

CityWire:

‘Asia is putting on fantastic economic growth and if China or Asia does not have a great recession, we will have pressure on the food supply,’ he said.

‘For 30 years, the price of agriculture has collapsed it fell by 90% in real terms so we haven’t invested in the sector. As a world society, we are now acutely vulnerable in the business of feeding ourselves because we have not spent enough and organised the production of agriculture in a manner that is appropriate.’

He went onto warn about the Russian/Belorussian/Canadian potash oligopoly, and the threat that posted to food/fertilizer prices, a highly relevant issue considering the brewing battle surrounding Potash.

This is Rare Earth's 1st LP released on the Rare Earth Label which was just open for business to house all the Motown's progressive music. I have this in my record collection and it is a British made which unfortunately does not worth more than RM10 in the collector market. Even an American original copy of this LP would cost less than USD10.00. This Japanese promo copy is really X pricey. Rarity is the watch word here.

Better Than Buying Public Bank ?

A Motown's 3rd. liner group from Ric-Tic label era (another legendary Detroit record company which Motown hostilely bought up) who backed Marvin Gaye during his "Let's Get It On " album time. I have this in my collection which I bought from Carnaby Music Shop at the MTUC building opposite PJ Hilton back in the early 70's at RM8.50. An almost 6700% appreciation if you take the highest selling price:-

The financial wit and wisdom of Zsa Zsa Gabor

Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, who has asked for a priest to administer the last rites, may not have looked like a feminist but had robust views about how women should stand up for themselves financially.

Zsa Zsa, 93, married nine times – mostly to very wealthy men – and distilled her wit and wisdom into memorable one-liners.

For example, she once said: “I learned in school that money isn’t everything. It’s happiness that counts. So Momma sent me to a different school.

Long before comedian Caroline Ahern, in character as Mrs Merton, asked Debbie McGee: “So, Debbie, what attracted first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?”, Mrs Gabor observed: “I want a man who is kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a millionaire?”

She famously preferred divorce to legal separation from her former partners because, she said: “Legal  separation gives the husband time to hide his money.”

And there was more than a grain of truth in her claim: “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house.”

When accused of marrying so often it amounted to serial polygamy she observed: “There is nothing wrong with a woman welcoming all men’s advances as long as they are in cash.”

Her other famous quotations:-

A man in love is incomplete until he has married. Then he's finished.

Conrad Hilton was very generous to me in the divorce settlement. He gave me 5000 Gideon Bibles.

Getting divorced just because you don't love a man is almost as silly as getting married just because you do.

How many husbands have I had? You mean apart from my own?

Husbands are like fires - they go out when unattended.

I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house.

I call everyone 'Darling' because I can't remember their names.

I don't remember anybody's name. How do you think the "dahling" thing got started?

I know nothing about sex, because I was always married.

I never hated a man enough to give him diamonds back.

Macho does not prove mucho.

One of my theories is that men love with their eyes; women love with their ears.

The women's movement hasn't changed my sex life. It wouldn't dare.

Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through much treasure and wealth; for in the end it is necessary for thee to leave all.

To a smart girl men are no problem - they're the answer.

We were both in love with him. I fell out of love with him, but he didn't.

When I'm alone, I can sleep crossways in bed without an argument.

You never really know a man until you have divorced him.

DVD Review: Marvin Gaye - Final 24: His Final Hours

by Jan Barrett in Movie Reviews, Reviews

Read 197 times.

In my earlier years I was a huge fan of Motown Music. There weren’t too many that were part of the Motown group that I didn’t like. Marvin Gaye was a part of Motown. He was considered the Prince of Motown and yes I was a fan of his music. Some of his biggest hits includes “You’re a Wonderful One”, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”, and “What’s Going On?”

Although he was a huge success in his music career Marvin found himself in the drug world and became addicted to cocaine, which caused a lot of problems in his life and career.

Marvin and his mother were really close and apparently his father was very jealous of their relationship. As a child his father was very strict on the kids. Marvin suffered from routine whippings since he was the age of 7. He had a hard time accepting the fact that his father, who was a preacher, was a cross dresser. This tormented Marvin throughout his childhood. He didn’t understand it. He started turning to his love for his music as a salvation and eventually his voice was his ticket to get out of his father’s home. His father wasn’t so happy with that but his mother always supported his choice.

In 1967 Marvin and Tammy Terrell became a singing duo when they recorded “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”  and they quickly rose to the top five hit ballad with “Your Precious Love” Although there were rumors that Gaye and Terrell were romantically involved this simply was not true. They did indeed love each other but what they had together was more of a brother-sister relationship. They grew very close to one another.
When Terrell became ill and it caused her to have to cease her recordings it put Marvin into a depression. He even attempted to commit suicide but fortunately was stopped by Berry Gordy’s father. On March 16, 1970, Terrell died of a brain tumor which had Marvin so emotional that at her funeral he talked to he as though he expected her to respond back. After her death Marvin swore he would no longer record duets with any other female performer nor was he ever going to perform on stage again because Terrell’s collapse had spooked him.

Five years before his death Marvin Gaye went into hiding in Hawaii where he lived inside a Van. He was running from the tax man. During this time he was at war with his wife, Janis Hunter, and the tax man.

Gaye was a no-show for a concert in Great Britain which left Princess Margaret waiting for hours at the Royal Gala Charity Show. He did eventually show up though but unfortunately not until the audience was leaving.  After this he went to Belgium and was hiding out there once again. While in Belgium he started using the drugs less and was beginning to get back in shape both physically and emotionally.

After a U.S tour in March 1984 he was worried that someone was going to kill him. He went into isolation once again but this time he went to his parent’s home. Gaye had threatened to commit suicide several time after some bitter arguments with his father.

On April 1, 1984, his father had been drinking and got angry when he couldn’t find some document papers and after Marvin had a lot of unpaid taxes and two divorces he lost all of his properties and since Marvin had purchased his parent’s home for them, his father was worried that they would lose their home as well. As he raised his voice to Marvin’s mother, Marvin stepped in to defend her. Apparently Marvin stood up to his father and ended up physically fighting with him which was the first time Marvin ever struck his father. His father walked out the room humiliated but only to return with a gun in his hand. He stood there and aimed at Marvin shooting him twice, once in the shoulder and the other in his chest Leaving Marvin’s mother screaming, the man turned around and went into his bedroom. They called 911 but the paramedics refused to come into the house until they confiscated the gun used. Marvin’s sister in law found the gun under his father’s pillow. Marvin’s brother was holding him in his arms when the paramedics came in.

He died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital which was at 1:01 pm on April 1, 1984. Marvin’s 45th birthday would have been the very next day. Marvin Gaye Sr. plead guilty to volunteer manslaughter and was given a 5 year suspended sentence. He was originally charged with first degree murder which was dropped once it was revealed that Marvin Sr had been beaten by his son before he killed him. Even though the doctors had found that Marvin Sr had a brain tumor they still declared him fit to stand trial. . He spent time in a retirement home where he died of pneumonia in 1998.

This video was very interesting to me. As I said before I was a fan of Marvin Gaye’s but I honestly didn’t know most of this part of his life. I think everyone that watches it would find it as interesting as I did.  This DVD will hit the streets on August 24, 2010 but to get your copy of Marvin Gaye - Final 24: His Final Hours to pre-order it. Just click on the Amazon icon above.

French to English

The Marvin Gaye's Friend from Ostend

Standing outside the gates of Buckingham Palace, the head sunk in his shoulders and his hands thrust in pockets of his black cloak worsted, Marvin Gaye stood there, motionless, eyes fixed on the balcony of the Palais Royal, that 'a light rain sprinkled London whipped by a cold wind came from Scotland.

There were not many people around, except immovable soldiers in red and black clothes, wearing high bearskin hats and more of a young couple of Japanese tourists, dressed in yellow slickers, as of course . More chattering a magpie, the boy just kept strafing his girlfriend posing in front of the official residence of the sovereigns of Great Britain, as it was the eighth wonder of the world.

WHY WE TOOK DOWN THE MARVIN GAYE VIDEO

We don't always have the means (computer time) to contact every person who has posted a Youtube video to let them know that we think the music video they posted on their station means something to us homeless. Recently one of us picked up this response from thenutsisgood.

thenutsisgood has replied to your comment on Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (From "Greatest Hits - Live In Amsterdam" DVD):

@HOMELESSSTATION i honest to god do not care one bit about homeless people.
