Japan's Idemitsu and Eneos halt Russian oil imports

TOKYO -- Japan's big distributors are moving to stop importing crude oil from Russia in response to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine as they come under growing pressure to boycott the country.
 
Eneos Holdings and Idemitsu Kosan are halting Russian crude oil imports after the fulfillment of current contracts, partly because sanctions on Russia have made it hard to do business.
 
Russian crude oil accounted for 4% of Idemitsu's total imports between April and November last year. Eneos has also stopped making new deals since the invasion.
