Australia, South Korea among Asian countries cracking down on DeepSeek
SEOUL/SYDNEY -- Governments across Asia, including South Korea and Australia, are restricting their use of DeepSeek's artificial intelligence services due to security concerns, following the Chinese startup's industry-shaking claims that it has developed high-performing AI models extremely cheaply.
"Chinese EVs, security cameras, TikTok, and now DeepSeek show that we are playing whack-a-mole with new technology products and services from high-risk nations," said an official at an Australian cybersecurity company.
