Simulation - Japan could lose 144 fighter jets in Taiwan crisis

Japanese Billions $ 6th Generation Fighter Jet Shocked Russia and China - YouTube    Simulation -  Japan could lose 144 fighter jets in Taiwan crisis

TOKYO -- Some experts predict a Chinese military attempt to take control of Taiwan in 2026, and think tank simulations so far show the U.S.-Japan alliance having the upper hand, albeit at a heavy cost.

A tabletop wargame conducted by Japan's Sasakawa Peace Foundation showed Japan losing as many as 144 fighter jets, with Self-Defense Forces casualties reaching up to 2,500. The U.S. could lose up to 400 jets. But China would fail to seize control of the island.

The simulation was based on current military capabilities of all involved countries. The outcome could be different if China significantly boosts its military power.
