SEOUL -- One of three South Korean surviving plaintiffs in a wartime labor lawsuit against Japanese companies will receive compensation from a South Korean government-affiliated foundation, Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Thursday, the first instance of a direct payment to a survivor in the long-standing case.
The payment will be completed on Friday, the ministry said.
