Panasonic, Komatsu and Hitachi Construction halt shipments to Russia
TOKYO/OSAKA -- Heavy equipment makers Komatsu and Hitachi Construction Machinery, along with technology group Panasonic, on Friday joined a growing list of Japanese companies cutting business ties with Russia.
The moves come as the West imposes harsh sanctions in response to Moscow's invasion of neighboring Ukraine.
Komatsu will stop delivering construction equipment in Russia, while Hitachi Construction says it will gradually cease local production and exports on supply chain concerns.
Panasonic suspended virtually all transactions with the country, citing "economic, logistical and other practical challenges."
