Pakistan marks deadliest year in a decade as militant attacks soar
ISLAMABAD -- 2024 has been Pakistan's bloodiest year in nearly a decade, with over 750 militant attacks claiming the lives of nearly 600 civilians and almost 700 security force members.
The spike has put Pakistan's military-backed government on the back foot as it grapples with an economic crisis and challenges to its authority by supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
