Gold Bull Tries To Pick A Fight With A Gold Bear

Investor newsletter author Peter Grandich, a well-known gold bug, tried to pick a fight with fellow investor newsletter writer Dennis Gartman this week, David Pett at the Financial Post reported.

The thing is Gartman doesn't appear to want to play his game.

In a letter, Grandich threw the first punch calling Gartman, who thinks gold is entering a bear market, "the true master of self-promotion" and one of the "Three Stooges of Gold Forecasting."

He also said Gartman would be fit to play the lead in "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"

Grandich even went as far to propose a bet with Gartman that gold will hit $2,000 before it hits $1,000.

Of course, Gartman politely responded to Gandrich in a letter first wishing him a "Merry Christmas."

Gartman then proceeded to correct Grandich telling him he actually said gold could fall somewhere in the range of $1,350-$1,425 in the coming weeks, not $1,000.

Furthermore, he said he didn't want to play his game.

Boom! Gartman wins that one.
