US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s recent Taiwan visit has been seen as a blessing in disguise for the island’s independence-leaning authorities by helping to unite both public opinion and the major political parties against Beijing, analysts have said.
They said this would also have an impact on the 2024 presidential elections, where candidates would have to be US-friendly and hostile towards Beijing to have any chance of winning.
