MAA vice president Ron Brewington said, ‘Earlier today, I visited Marvin’s home in Los Angeles, located at 2010 S. Gramercy Place. We do this every year, where a single white rose is placed on the front gate in memory of Marvin for all the great music and love that he gave to us, his fans!!!’
Brewington, who led the charge in getting Gaye’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame said, ‘Next year will mark
the 30th anniversary of Marvin’s death, as well as his 75th birthday, so we’re going to have a huge celebration…let’s hear it for Marvin!’
In 1970 Gaye looked at the world and asked the famous question in song ‘What’s Going On?’ Former Motown songwriter Marilyn McLeod asks today in song ‘What Would Marvin Say?’ The song, written along with veteran Motown songwriter Janie Bradford is included on the CD ‘I Believe In Me’ on Twinn Records.
