Far-right views in  Singapore cases  reflect ‘anti-woke’ movement

    More Asian internet users are influenced by far-right causes including white supremacism in the digital age, analysts say. In Singapore, two teenagers holding far-right extremist views were arrested after the authorities uncovered their plans to carry out attacks


An initial interest in conservatism led Singaporean youth Ethan* down a rabbit hole of clips of bloody clashes between protesters and right-wing advocates in the United States slamming transgender people and the use of gender pronouns.

Ethan, who was 26 at the time and in his third year of university, said social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook began pushing out these clips from seemingly apolitical pages that offer men motivational quotes, book recommendations and advice on how to get rich.
