Speaking of Nike, the athleticwear giant has tons of factories overseas. One in five pairs of Nikes are made in China, making the country the second-largest producer of Nikes in the world. China and Nike have contracts with 180 manufacturers, which employ more than 210,000 people. The largest producer is in Vietnam, and there are also plants in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, and Brazil.
Nike and Adidas have been shrinking their China manufacturing. In 2012, one in three pairs of Nikes (32%) were made in China. Now, 19% of Nikes are made there. Nike has not stated the reason for the decrease.

In South Korea, Chevy cars are especially popular, though they retailed under the brand “Daewoo Motors” until 2011. The most “American-made” car on Chevy’s roster is the Corvette.

Moral of the story: always check the labels.

Founded in 1891, Rexnord is one of America’s oldest companies. The Milwaukee-based business sells pretty much everything you need to keep a machine running, including power transmission gear drives, couplings, bearings, industrial chains, brakes, and more.
Like many of the businesses on this list, Rexnord has a lot of locations and distributors in other countries, including China. It also has distributors in Canada, Mexico, Australia, India, Singapore, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Dubai, South Africa, and more. QVC is worth over $8 billion, and it broadcasts its wares into more than 350 million homes. The shopping channel sells pretty much everything you can think of, and it has made more than a few people into multimillionaires. It’s not super easy to get your product on QVC but, if you do, you can end up with a pretty lucrative profit.
A large number of QVC’s products are made in China. Message boards in the QVC Community often share information on which vendors make their goods in China versus which don’t. As one person said, it’s hard to narrow down American-made items from the company.

The University of California has ten campuses throughout the sunny state, and it boasts over a quarter-million students. The academic staff numbers 22,700, while the administrative staff numbers 154,900. UC has six “Public Ivies.” As of the summer of 2020, UC’s assets are in the $140 billion range. The university has over 150 academic disciplines from which to choose.
UC’s largest donors sometimes come from foreign countries, which is permitted. Though UC isn’t a company the way the other businesses on this list are, the university, along with many other universities throughout America, is the recipient of foreign donations.
