The great barbara Mason !

"It's funny how some songs are so timeless. Able to influence generation upon generation...this is one of those songs. "

Recent years music remix is getting popular. That is when DJs or producers remix a piece of original music with new instrumentations.
Offering an almost completely new 'sound' to the original classics. Some of them are just grossly in bad taste but often some come out just wonderful.

Today I received this great remix of Barbara Mason's all time soul classic "Yes, I'm Ready" through the net. I think they have done a wonderful job on her song. Barbara wrote the song herself and hit top 5 in 1965 on the tiny Arctic label. And she hit the top 20 again with a modernized version of the same song produced by the legendary Curtis Mayfield when she joined Buddah label. During her stay with Buddah label, she sang some of most women fatt lan cha songs I have ever heard.

She just stood there and commanded the big stage singing the song - so unlike today stars who have to perform wardrobe malfunction and touch their cunt in order to sell records)

I think this song is so particular strong is because of its subtle sexual tone especially with Barbara's seemingly innocent young girl voice.
She sings like a cat purring. And her lyric is so teasing that all the men just want to grab her. .................

You can buy her CDs from: http://www.dustygroove.com/

The lyric:-

I don't even know how to love you
Just the way you want me to
But I'm ready [ready] to learn (to learn)
Yes, I'm ready [ready] to learn (to learn)
To fall in love, to fall in love, to fall in love with you

I don't even know how to hold your hand
Just to make you understand
But I'm ready [ready] to learn (to learn)
Yes, I'm ready [ready] to learn (to learn)
To hold your hand, make you understand
To hold your hand right now

I don't even know how to kiss your lips (kiss your lips)
At a moment like this
But I'm going to learn how to do
All the things you want me to
(Are you ready?) Yes, I'm ready
(Are you ready?) Yes, I'm ready
To fall in love, to fall in love, to fall in love right now

(Are you ready?) Yes, I'm ready
(Are you ready?) Yes, I'm ready
(To kiss me?) Yes, I'm ready
(To love me?)
To kiss you, love you, and hug you
Baby, I'm ready
