Japan's Kishida says U.S. not alone in upholding world order

WASHINGTON -- "You are not alone. We are with you."

That's what Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told U.S. legislators Thursday, noting that the U.S.-built international order faces fresh challenges from China, Russia, and North Korea.

"As the United States' closest friend, tomodachi, the people of Japan are with you, side by side, to assure the survival of liberty," the prime minister added.
