Japan deepening security ties with Philippines giving coastal radars
MANILA -- Japan will give the Philippines 600 million yen ($4 million) worth of coastal radar systems as Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida seeks stronger ties with the country amid its maritime disputes with China in the South China Sea.
The radars will be supplied under Japan's new program to provide defense equipment for free to like-minded partners.
